We are a young team aiming at the stars. Started as a small group under the supervision of dr. Dragut, we are growing faster in GIS & Remote sensing community. Our reasearch interests and results are helping the society to better understand the spatial aspects of their lives. Our main focuses are Geomorphometry and Object-based image analysis (OBIA).
In Timisoara, we have one of the best GIS Master programme from Romania. Our master students are gaining a strong knowledge in the fields of GIS & Remote sensing, being prepared for business and industry sector, as well as for a research career. Teachers from Austria, Switzerland, ESRI Romania, University of Bucharest and Deparment of Informatics (West University of Timisoara) activates in this GIS Master programme.
Throughout the year, GIS & Remote sensing group are organizing many activities. Some of the most important events at our department are: lectures from international well-known researchers (UK, Japan, Austria etc.), GeoSpatial Seminars, GIS Day
In this section, you will find outputs of our research, mainly tools and softwares to be used for free. You will find details about all of them and access the download packages. Any feedback for improvements are warmly welcomed.
